Linda Hambäck

Linda Hambäck, born 1974, is a Swedish film director and owner and founder of the production company LEE Film. Born in Seoul, South Korea in 1974, she has been working within the film and TV industry since 1998, after finishing her studies, at Dramatiska Institutet – University College of Film, Radio, Television and Theatre, Stockholm.

She works mainly with animated films for children, and her first highly recognized feature Gordon & Paddy had its worldpremiere at Berlinale 2018. Now she is working on finishing her second feature The Ape Star and it will be released in early 2021. Previous films have been Bajsfilmen (2016), Tänk om… (2014) as she co-directed with Marika Heidebäck. But she has also directed a short documentary, Fighting Spirit (2013). Before her directing debut she had a long background with producing highly acclaimed shorts Tussilago and Lies, by Jonas Odell and the Who films, directed by Jessica Laurén script and design by Stina Wirséns highly recognized series of Who characters. Linda was also the producer of the animated parts of Academy Award winning documentary “Searching for Sugar Man”, directed by Malik Bendjelloul.

Linda attended the European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs program EAVE in 2002. 

In 2006 her first non-fiction book ”Familjepack” was released at Ordfront Förlag. She co-wrote the book  with Anna Lagerblad.
